Recording & Audio FAQs

  • Can I record a meeting if I don't have an internet connection?

    • Yes! The Filenote AI app is designed to work completely offline. You can record and save meetings directly to your device without Wi-Fi or cellular reception. Once you have a connection again, you can easily upload the saved file from your List tab.

  • What happens if my phone screen locks while I am recording?

    • Your recording will continue uninterrupted. Unlike some other apps, Filenote AI runs securely in the background, so you do not need to change your auto-lock settings or keep tapping the screen to keep it awake.

  • What should I do to prevent phone calls from interrupting my recording?

    • We highly recommend placing your phone on 'Do Not Disturb' mode before starting a meeting. If a call does come through, it may pause the microphone access, so it is best to mute notifications to ensure a clean, continuous recording.

  • How much storage space do recordings take up on my phone?

    • This depends on your selected audio quality, which you can adjust in the Profile tab. Low quality uses approximately 14 MB per hour. Standard quality (default) uses approximately 28 MB per hour. High quality uses approximately 58 MB per hour.

Uploading & Managing Files FAQs

  • How do I assign a recording to a specific client?

    • Client tagging happens instantly during the upload process. After you stop a recording, a prompt will appear asking you to select the Workflow Type and the Client Name. You can even create a new client directly from this screen.

  • Can I combine two separate recordings for the same client?

    • Yes. If your meeting was split into multiple parts, navigate to your List tab and long-press one of the recordings. Select the other files you wish to merge, tap Combine, and proceed to upload them as a single comprehensive file.

  • Can I upload an audio file that I recorded using my phone's default voice memo app?

    • Absolutely. Navigate to the Upload tab in the Filenote AI app, select 'Choose Files', and browse your phone's local storage to find the audio file. Once uploaded, it will appear in your List tab where you can assign a workflow and client.

  • Are my recordings deleted automatically after uploading?

    • No, your recordings remain saved locally on your device until you manually delete them. To free up storage space on your phone, you can delete files directly from the app's List tab, but please note that this permanently removes them from your device.

Outputs & Delivery FAQs

  • Where do my documents go after I upload a recording from the app?

    • Once you upload a recording and assign a workflow and client, a new Task will automatically be created for you in the Filenote AI Platform.

  • Can I have my documents delivered directly to the platform instead of my email inbox?

    • Yes. To ensure all generated outputs bypass your email and stay securely in one place, log into the web platform, navigate to User Settings, and turn on the toggle for 'Receive all outputs in Platform'.
